Rev. Janice Smith Ammon, MDiv ’90, serves as the Bryant M. Kirkland Minister of the Chapel at Princeton Theological Seminary, where she coordinates the worship life of the chapel with the director of music and serves as pastor to the students and their families. She has held this position since July 2007, when she returned to Princeton Seminary after serving the congregation of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in Manhattan as the associate pastor for congregational care from 1999–2006. Prior to that, she served for nine years on the pastoral staff at Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, New Jersey.
Ammon began her vocational journey as a nurse, working for close to 10 years in home care and in case management at a children’s hospital. Discerning a call to ministry, she entered Princeton Seminary and graduated in 1990 with a focus on pastoral care and counseling. Ammon shares life with her husband, Greg. Their souls continue to be nourished and restored by the beauty of creation. One of the greatest privileges of ministry for her is being a traveling companion with the students at Princeton Seminary.
